AARP today announces a new charitable affiliation to help its 38 million members, and older adults in general, live the best possible quality of life at a time when we all rely more than ever on technology to get work done. , learn and connect with family and friends.
AARP, the nation’s largest nonprofit, joins forces with Older Adults Technology Services (OATS), a New York-based charity, to help older adults thrive in the digital world , and to use technology in ways that enhance their social and civic participation, financial security, health, and creativity.
“Knowledge and access to technology can make the difference between being able to work, order food and medicine at home find out about the availability of vaccines at the community level and stay in touch with family and friends, or feel marginalized and in need of outside support, said Scott Frisch, executive vice president and chief operating officer of AARP.
